Job Description
Role Purpose
The Regional Manager will lead the sales force and promotional strategies across the Multan region and its surrounding territories. As the central hub of South Punjab, this market requires a resilient and strategic leader capable of managing a geographically dispersed team, building strong relationships with key healthcare institutions, and driving aggressive market share growth. The role will oversee operations across Dera Ghazi Khan, Okara, and Sahiwal, ensuring consistent execution of sales strategies and market expansion initiatives throughout the region.
Core Responsibilities
1. Team Building & Leadership
- Talent Acquisition: Recruit, train, and retain a high-performing team of Sales Promotion Officers (SPOs) and First-Line Managers across the Multan division.
- Team Motivation: Build a strong, results-driven culture. Address field challenges proactively and maintain high morale, especially given the extensive travel required in South Punjab.
- Discipline & Compliance: Ensure the field force strictly adheres to corporate guidelines, ethical detailing practices, and daily reporting (DCR) protocols.
2. Sales Promotion & Market Execution
- Strategic Coverage: Develop and optimize “Tour Programs” to balance coverage between urban Multan (e.g., Nishtar Hospital and major private setups) and crucial periphery markets.
- KOL Management: Establish and deepen relationships with Key Opinion Leaders (KOLs), leading consultants, and major institutional buyers specific to the South Punjab healthcare ecosystem.
- Campaign Execution: Drive the implementation of targeted marketing campaigns. Adapt promotional inputs to counter local competitor activities and pricing strategies.
- Distribution Management: Work closely with regional distributors and sub-distributors to ensure consistent product availability and smooth secondary sales execution.
3. Training & Development of Field Force
- In-Field Coaching: Spend a minimum of 15–18 days per month conducting “Joint Working” with SPOs. Provide immediate, constructive feedback on their detailing, body language, and objection-handling skills.
- Technical Product Training: Lead regional sales meetings to refresh the team’s knowledge of product pharmacology, clinical benefits, and competitive positioning.
- Performance Appraisals: Conduct regular performance reviews. Identify skill gaps and implement personalized coaching plans to ensure every team member meets their sales KPIs.
Required Qualifications & Experience
- Education: Pharmacy, Pharm-D, or a Bachelor’s/Master’s degree in Business or Life Sciences.
- Experience: Minimum of 5 to 7 years of successful pharmaceutical sales experience, with at least 2 years in a managerial capacity (Area Manager or above) specifically within the Multan/South Punjab market.
- Market Knowledge: In-depth understanding of the Multan healthcare landscape, including key institutional accounts, consultant networks, and regional distributor dynamics.
- Communication Skills: Strong negotiation and interpersonal skills. Fluency in Urdu is required; proficiency in Saraiki and Punjabi is highly preferred for building local rapport.
- Mobility: Must be highly mobile and willing to travel extensively across the designated region.
