Job Description
Role Purpose
The Regional Manager will lead the sales operations and promotional execution across the sprawling and highly competitive Lahore metropolitan region. As one of the highest-volume pharmaceutical markets in the country, this territory requires an aggressive, highly strategic leader capable of managing a large field force, navigating complex tertiary care institutions, and driving substantial revenue growth against intense competition. The role will also oversee operations across Kasur and Sheikhupura, ensuring consistent execution of sales strategies and market expansion initiatives across the wider region.
Core Responsibilities
1. Team Building & Leadership
- Talent Acquisition: Attract, hire, and retain top-tier Sales Promotion Officers (SPOs) and Area Managers in a highly competitive talent market.
- High-Performance Culture: Foster a fast-paced, result-oriented environment. Manage field force dynamics effectively to ensure high energy, low attrition, and strict adherence to ethical promotion standards.
- Succession Planning: Identify high-potential individuals within the team and provide mentorship to build a strong pipeline of future territory managers.
2. Sales Promotion & Market Execution
- Institutional & KOL Management: Build and leverage high-level relationships with Key Opinion Leaders (KOLs) and leading consultants at premier teaching hospitals and specialized centers (e.g., Mayo Hospital, Jinnah Hospital, Services Hospital, PIC, and Shaukat Khanum).
- Strategic Territory Planning: Design highly optimized “Tour Programs” that maximize daily call rates despite heavy urban traffic, ensuring deep penetration in both prime medical clusters and sprawling residential healthcare setups.
- Campaign Execution: Execute sophisticated, data-driven marketing campaigns. Implement agile promotional strategies to immediately counter competitor shifts in this dynamic market.
- Distribution Oversight: Manage relationships with key regional distributors and major chain pharmacies to ensure 100% product availability and fluid secondary sales movement.
3. Training & Development of Field Force
- Advanced In-Field Coaching: Dedicate 15–18 days per month to “Joint Working” with the team. Provide high-level coaching on advanced medical detailing, handling sophisticated clinical objections from elite consultants, and closing sales effectively.
- Technical Product Training: Conduct intensive regional meetings to ensure the field force possesses superior pharmacological knowledge and can confidently communicate product USPs.
- Performance Appraisals: Utilize data analytics (e.g., IMS/IQVIA data, internal sales dashboards) to conduct rigorous monthly performance reviews. Implement targeted coaching plans to course-correct underperforming territories quickly.
Required Qualifications & Experience
- Education: Pharmacy, Pharm-D, or a Bachelor’s/Master’s degree in Business or Life Sciences.
- Experience: Minimum of 5 to 8 years of aggressive pharmaceutical sales experience, with at least 2 to 3 years in a managerial capacity (Area Manager or above) explicitly managing teams within the Lahore market.
- Market Knowledge: Comprehensive understanding of the Lahore healthcare ecosystem, possessing established relationships with key institutional buyers, major distributors, and top-tier consultants.
- Communication Skills: Exceptional presentation, negotiation, and interpersonal skills. Fluency in English and Urdu is required; proficiency in Punjabi is highly advantageous for building local rapport.
- Resilience: Proven ability to thrive under pressure in a high-target, fast-moving metropolitan environment.
